How does your media product represent particular social groups?
To the left is an image of a Rastafarian (Bob Marley (right)), and a photograph of me from my magazine (left).
I used a wig with dreadlocks for my photograph. Dreadlocks, in Rastafarian culture are an important part of inner spirituality, and therefor I thought a necessity. The dreadlocks are also in a similar position over our bodies, although his head is titled back and I'm leaning forward.
This image represents the stereotypical view of Rastafarian's. It re-iterates that the majority of reggae artists are male, although what is not shown is that they are not necessarily young.

Which social group does this image represent? Male youth? Rastafarians? Does it challenge or reinforce dominant images of that social group?
